Making your gift

To leave a gift to CHASE Africa, you will need to:

  • Consider speaking to a solicitor and financial advisor, or visit Remember A Charity’s website and use their tool to help you find a Will-writing service that works for you and your family.
  • To include CHASE Africa in your Will, simply give your solicitor or Will writer the following details:
Charity name: CHASE Africa, Charity address: The Office, Barrow Farm, Rode Hill, Rode, Somerset, BA11 6PS, UK
    Charity Number: 1200992
  • Let your family know that we are named in the Will, so they are in the know about your plans to support CHASE Africa.
  • Help us claim the gift, by including a statement such as: I give _% of the residue of my estate to CHASE Africa of The Office, Barrow Farm, Rode Hill, Rode, Somerset, BA11 6PS, UK (charity number 1200992) absolutely for its general charitable purposes.

There are several ways you can remember CHASE Africa in your Will:

  • You can leave a pecuniary bequest, which is a gift of money, as opposed to another asset.
  • You could leave CHASE Africa a percentage of your estate. For example, you could specify a gift of 10% of your estate to CHASE Africa.
  • Another option is a residual bequest. This will give CHASE Africa a gift of what remains in an Estate after the payment of administrative expenses, creditor claims, and any other types of Bequests listed in the Will.
  • If you’ve already written a Will, you can draft a Codicil, which is a legal document that alters part of your existing Will but leaves the rest of the Will intact. Codicils are separate to the Will itself and need to be stored alongside it. You can have a solicitor or other legal professional write your codicil for you, or you can write one yourself.
  • If you decide to give us details of your intentions, it greatly assists our long-term planning. Naturally, this pledge is confidential and simply a statement of your present intentions, it is not legally binding.

Why making a Will matters

We know that when the time comes to write your own Will, you will want to make sure your family and friends are looked after. But if even a small amount remains, it can make a huge difference to our work. It is also an opportunity to ensure that the good causes you care about now continue to be supported. Leaving a gift to charity might also reduce inheritance tax.

Visit Remember A Charity’s website for more advice on making a Will and leaving a gift to charity.

Thank you for taking the time to consider remembering CHASE Africa in your Will.

We chose to leave a legacy to CHASE Africa as we believe in choice for women and improving the environment.

We hope our gift will help create a better and more sustainable planet. We looked at how our contributions have the biggest impact. For example, charities that focus on earth, animals, oceans and people. We concluded human empowerment addresses these holistic issues.

Money left in a Will to a charity betters the life of many individuals rather than a select few. We would strongly encourage people to leave a charitable donation. It is very easy to do just providing the details of your charity in your Will.
