Healthy women, communities and their environment
CHASE Africa supports local organisations in East Africa to give rural communities access to family planning, healthcare and rights. Simultaneously, our projects protect the environment and promote resilience to climate change, ensuring sustainable development for generations to come.
Healthy
women
We improve women’s health and wellbeing, and that of their families. Our community health programmes break down barriers that prevent women accessing health services and realising their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
Creating healthy communities
By enhancing knowledge, changing attitudes, and improving access to healthcare and contraception, we create positive ripple effects throughout the community. We improve health-seeking behaviour and we empower individuals to advocate for their needs.
In healthy environments
CHASE Africa promotes a one-health approach, recognising the interconnectedness of human and environmental health and wellbeing. Empowering communities with healthcare, information and strong community structures enables better care for the environment, natural resources and biodiversity.

How we work
CHASE Africa supports established local organisations in East Africa that are already working closely with rural communities.
We provide financial, technical and organisational development support to enable them to either start up and implement community health programmes. Or we support local organisations to incorporate Sexual and Reproductive Health into their existing health programmes, integrating activities with their other work where possible. We also facilitate learning across the different local partners that form the CHASE Africa partner network.
