Claire Maxey

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Claire is a longstanding supporter of CHASE Africa and has been a trustee since 2022.  She has championed women and girls’ education, particularly as relates to sexual and reproductive health and rights, for almost 20 years, dovetailing with a strategy consulting career at PwC.  Claire co-founded the Mark Anthony Trust in 2008, which has granted over £1.5m in this space, and has worked in various roles since, including at the international children’s charity Street Child.  Claire also supports collective philanthropy efforts closer to home and is a founding member of the Impact London Collective and a member of The Grove Trust.  In addition, Claire serves as an advisor to the High Performance Foundation in the UK and to several start-up companies in France.

Claire succeeds Miles Geldard, who has stepped down due to a family medical emergency. We are deeply grateful for the leadership Miles has provided over the past two years. His guidance has helped strengthen CHASE Africa’s governance and professionalise the organisation, and his contribution is greatly valued by the Board and the CHASE Africa team.

We are delighted that Miles has agreed to become an Ambassador for CHASE Africa, so that he can continue to support and champion our work.
